Dimplex is a brand committed to temperature control. All their products are centred around this market, and largely include heaters and fans. However, they also include air treatment, shower models, and some air quality products like dehumidifiers.
Of their air cooling products, we will be looking at the Dimplex DXMBCF Mont Blanc Cooling Fan in today's review, and deciding if it is value for money.

Available in both black and white colours, the black model tends to have a slightly higher price tag of around £60. White on the other hand asks nearer to £50.
Whichever design bests suits your home, the sleek and slim designs of the Dimplex Mont Blanc makes it ideal for fitting into smaller spaces.
However, this is the main design philosophy of most towers fans. Keeping them thinner for easy storage, both when packed away and put out for use.
So what really sets the Dimplex fan models apart from the competition? Do they really do anything different at Dimplex that we haven't seen a hundred times before?
Features of Dimplex Fans
The Dimplex Mont Blanc range boasts a very wide oscillation compared to other tower fan models, allowing the fan to reach much more of the room than your regular tower fans.
On top of that, Dimplex suggests that the fan can be used as both a floor fan (like most tower fans) and a table fan. Even going so far as to call it a desktop fan.
While we can't recommend placing this rather large Dimplex fan range onto a table, the base does keep the fan quite sturdy on any flat surface.

Support in the base is very important in a tower fan, especially in homes with small children or pets running around which might knock it off. The last thing you want is for them to get injured, or break your new fan.
Dimplex Mont Blanc fans also come with a natural and night mode settings. The night mode being an ideal way to sleep, as the fans gradually powers down over night before shutting off.
This is great to get over the hill of needing to fall asleep, but struggling in the often sweat inducing summer night heat.
Natural modes emulate wind directions and speed throughout the day. Using less power, it is often environmentally friendly and can make you feel like you're sitting in a nice garden even indoors.

Dimplex is also well known for being energy efficient. This means the eco-conscious among you don't need to stress about avoiding a fan following the heat waves this summer.
Instead, you can opt for an efficient Dimplex with natural modes, keeping energy costs down both financially and environmentally.
Dimplex is also quite quiet, although we suggest speed setting 2 as the optimal balance between noise and cooling power, rather than setting 3.
Downsides to the Dimplex Fan Range
On the higher setting, speed 3, the fan can produce a fair bit of noise. For fans of white noise, blocking out other unwanted sounds, this can be ideal. For those who like the quiet however, it is less than perfect.
The plastic base also requires assembly, which can be difficult for those who aren't handy with screws.
Although it should take five minutes, older fan users who struggle with mobility may need an extra hand fitting the base to the Dimplex Mont Blanc fan.
While not necessarily a downside, most users find the Dimplex models astoundingly average or mediocre. Not the best in the world, but hardly the worst.

Our Review
Is the Dimplex Mont Blanc range value for money? Does it really do enough to set it apart from the competition?
Our answer would be a solid yes, however we would suggest trying to opt for the cheaper white model if possible.
The slightly higher price of the black Dimplex fan does dissuade us, but if you need a black fan for your home's interior design needs, then don't let it stop you.
We believed the price estimates of the white fan represent a more reasonable value for what the Dimplex Mont Blanc does and the downsides it comes with.
